Madrasa education in Bangladesh is one of the important streams among three such streams of the education system: a) General Education b) Technical Vocational education and c) Madrasa Education. General education and vocational & technical streams have mechanism / institutional arrangement for offering pedagogical training to the teachers of these two streams. Now a day it is not absolutely confined to religion only. Many general subjects have been included in its curriculum and syllabi. As the Government is going to modernize Madrasha education system, the availability of quality teachers who have appropriate qualification and skills are mandatory to create an effective teaching-learning environment. Teachers’ commitment and quality of performance will bring about much desired change in Madrasha education sector. The Madrasha teachers have less opportunity to improve their competence referred to content knowledge, pedagogical skills and professional outlook for implementing the curriculum. But the only Madrasha Teachers’ Training Institute of the country has the limited scope referred to the service should be provided to a large number of Madrasha teachers. To implement any education policy in the country, the role of the teachers is the prime. For this reason, teachers’ training is undoubtedly considered to be very much important and vital.
