New version of Bangladeshdir.com launched

The University Press Limited was set up in Dhaka, Bangladesh in December, 1974. When we began, our main objective was to serve scholarship in the country by making the results of research coherently available for the use of all. Since then, we at UPL feel that we have done much to stimulate and vitalize research, to encourage authors and researchers and to subject this research to criticism by disseminating it to the public.

In addition we also serve as a connecting link with the world community of scholars through informing other countries of results of research and to publish selected scholarly works from abroad. We believe that UPL exhibits standards of book publishing that has helped to raise the general level of publishing in Bangladesh. UPL has published over 650 titles. They include educational, academic and scholarly works.

We will continue in our efforts to strengthen cultural and academic morale at the Universities of Bangladesh and in the country in general by building our own capacity in scholarly publishing and research.
