 Shipbreakingbd.info

First dedicated website on ship breaking in Bangladesh. Shipbreaking activities in Bangladesh is concentrated in Sitakund (Bhatiary to Barwalia), just north of Chittagong city on the Bay of Bengal. It is of paramount importance to the macro and micro economies of poverty stricken Bangladesh. Shipbreaking activities present both challenges and opportunities for our coastal zone management. Meeting the increasing demand for raw materials such as steel needs to be balanced with the negative impact this activity is having on our coastal environment and the conditions of the workers.

I am a simple scientist. I was requested by the Minister L.K. Sidikki through my office to carry Environmental Impact Assessment on the site. I spend good time there and used my own technology to disclose all most all hidden dramas of Ship breaking arena. Finally I prepared a report and a power point presentation. But due to unknown reason my office kept all unpublished and did not allow me to show to the minister of the time. I have many information, detail studies, pictures and Videos of hidden Camera with me. My study did not only confined to Ship breaking itself rather the all possible consequences of the event and my conclusion was to declared Sitakundu as worst most thana (area) regarding environment that include both bio-physical and social. I am pleased that you people took a nice initiative about the matter. My approach was with positive to encourage economy of the country through respecting environment and public interest. If you like I can share but how I have no idea because of volume of my work. My regards.
