 | Registrar of Joint Stock Companies & Firms |  |  | | |  | After the partition of India the Office of the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies & Firms under the Ministry of Commerce was set up first in Chittagong with some files and records of the companies, association and partnership firms received from Kolkata and which was transferred to it?s Head Office in Dhaka in the year 1962 and which is now located at 24-25 Dilkusha Commercial Area, Dhaka. This Office accords registration of Companies, Associations and Partnership Firms under the Companies Act, other related acts, rules, orders and ensures lawful administration of them.
This Directorate performs works under the provisions of following acts :
Companies Act, 1994.
Society Registration Act, 1860.
Partnership Act, 1932.
Unwanted Companies Act, 1958. Besides, perform partial works of the following acts :
Trade Organization Ordinance, 1961.
Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1947.
Bangladesh Abandoned Property (Control, Management and Disposal).
Industrial Enterprises Nationalization Order, 1972 (P.O. 27 of 1972).
