Jamia Tawakkulia Renga is one of the largest Islamic institutions in Bangladesh and the biggest in Greater Sylhet district. Since its inception in 1919, the institute has been spreading the light of Quran and Hadith (prophetic tradition) among the Muslim society, propagating the Islamic culture, and trying to keep the environment free from all sorts of superstition.
Having accomplished their studies in Islamic affairs and the memorisation of the Quran in full, a good number of Alim (Islamic scholars) and Hafiz-e-Quran come out of this institute every year and they themselves are serving the country and the countrymen at home and abroad. The Jamia provides the student with free boarding and accommodation, supply of water and electricity, and tuition-free teaching. Moreover, the institute supplies all the textbooks to the needy and poor students. Several hundred students studying here are regularly supplied with their timely food. In short, the Jamia provides the students with their basic necessities and takes their full responsibility as well.
