The Chittagong University College was established in 1975. Being hilly area and long distance from the urban society the Teachers, Officers an Employees of the University of Chittagong were very much anxious with the children for their education as there was no primary and secondary schools within about ten kilometers of the University Campus. Under these circumstances, University authority was very much in pressure of the Teachers, Officers and Employees for establishment of Primary and Secondary School in the Campus area and was compelled to establish a Secondary School in 1970, which was later on converted into Chittagong University College with the provision of Education facilities for the student upto XII class. The decision for establishment of Chittagong University College and the financial expenditure of the College was also being borne by University Authority as a part and parcel within its revenue budget duly approved by the University Grant Commission (UGC).
