 | Turkish Air starts Dhaka-Istanbul flights today 26 December, 2010
Turkish Airlines, the fourth biggest carrier network in Europe, is expanding its operation in the Asian sub-continent with an inaugural flight from Dhaka today (Sunday).
The airlines will operate four flights per week - on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday - from Dhaka to Istanbul and from Istanbul to Dhaka via Karachi, and via Karachi on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The airlines authority is going to announce its formal launch at a press conference today at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Shafique Alam Mehdi, Turkish Ambassador to Dhaka Vakur Erkul, and Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority Air Commodore Mahmud Hussain will be present in the programme.
Its non-stop flights are scheduled to depart from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 22:50 hours to Istanbul via Karachi four times per week, said an official of the airlines.
