 | SEC body to probe price hike of EHL shares

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Tuesday formed an enquiry committee to investigate the recent 'unusual' price hike of Eastern Housing Limited (EHL) shares in the stock exchanges.
The commission has asked the two-member committee, headed by SEC director Rezaul Karim, to submit its report by next month.
Price of each EHL share jumped 200 per cent to Tk 1,750 during the last three months from the beginning of July in the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
Earlier, on August 19, the SEC directed the DSE to investigate the abnormal price hike of EHL shares.
In response to the DSE queries the realtor said there was no undisclosed price sensitive information for the price hike of its shares.
