Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and Intercooperation (IC)-Bangladesh have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to initiate joint efforts to contribute to the livelihoods of rural population, particularly the ultra poor, poor and marginal farmers, through exchange of services.
Deputy Managing Director of PKSF Mosharraf Hosaain Khan and Representative of the Intercooperation-Bangladesh Alain Cuvelier signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations in the city recently, said a press release.
Managing Director of PKSF Quazi Mesbahuddin Ahmed was present at the MoU signing ceremony.
Under the deal, the area of collaboration includes: provision of access to the diversified financial services of PKSF for the IC supported CBOs (community based organisations)/CPs (cluster platforms) comprising poor, ultra poor and marginal farmers who are involved in IGAs, MSEs as well as SMEs for improving their livelihoods.
The new agreement will also facilitate provision of exchange of experiences, innovation and knowledge to each other and replicate/extend the good innovation to other areas of each jurisdictions, provision of support to the service provision and using the Local Service Providers (LSPs) and their networks Service Provider Associations (SPAs) to the PKSF supported programmes for the improvement of livelihoods of the targeted beneficiaries by best uses of local resources.
Among others, Deputy Managing Director Parveen Mahmud of the PKSF and general managers MAC Hakim, Md Shah Alam Mridha and Jashim Uddin and advisers of the of IC Anton Joehr and AKM Osrnan Haruni were present at the deal signing ceremony.
