 | International Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition-2010 begins today

The 7th Dhaka International Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition-2010 (DTG2010) begins today (Tuesday) in the city.
DTG 2010 to be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre is aimed to introduce latest machinery and technology to the local textiles and garment manufacturers.
Jute and Textiles Minister Latif Siddiqui will inaugurate the event as chief guest while Industries Minister Dilip Borua is expected to attend the inaugural session.
Textile and clothing industry, accounting for 78 per cent of the total export earnings, plays the most dominant and expanding role in the Bangladesh economy.
The organisers hoped the event will be a gateway to provide and creat more opportunity for Bangladeshi exporters to come into contact or deal with related manufacturers, regional agents and wholesalers at one place and source high quality machinery, equipment and materials, after the multi fiber regime.
The event will be jointly organised by BTMA and Yorkers Trade and Marketing Service Company of Hong Kong.
Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) president Abdul Hai Sarker said, previously businessmen had to go abroad to source modern machinery and technology suppliers. But now they can get the facility at their doorsteps.
