 | Grameenphone receives ICAB award 22 December, 2010
Mobile phone operator Grameenphone Ltd. received top award of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) for its published Financial Statements & Annual Report 2009 in the category of Communication and IT sector.
Finance Minister Mr. AMA Muhith handed over the award at a ceremony held in Dhaka recently to recognize publishing of transparent reports & accounts and for good governance and adequate disclosures.
Raihan Shamsi, Deputy CEO and Chief Financial Officer of Grameenphone, received the award from Finance Minister.
Grameenphone also received "1st Runner up Award" in the South Asian Region on the same ground, announced by the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA).
On 12th December 2010, Finance Minister of Nepal, Mr. Surendra Pandey, handed over the award at a SAFA ceremony held in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Grameenphone came to market in November 2009 after doing the largest IPO of the country. The company had around 110,000 shareholders in June 2010 when the Annual report was published and distributed.
