 | Eye camp at Narsingdi village treat 1000 patients

About 200 eye patients got free surgical operations, and another 800 were provided free eye treatment at a two-day eye camp organized at Ibrahimpur village under Belabo upazila of Narsingdi.
Four specialist eye surgeons from Singapore along with two other specialists of Bangladesh conducted eye operations and provided treatment at the eye camp known as "Eye See The World" held on Friday and Saturday, said the organizers of the eye camp.
Bangladesh Eye Hospital and Tan Tock Seng Hospital of Singapore along with Singapore Airlines organized "Eye See The World" project at Belabo that provided free treatment to eye patients.
This is the fourth eye treatment project of this kind organized in Bangladesh with the participation of Singaporean specialists. In the previous eye camps organized since 2008, a total of 346 cataract patients were treated with surgical operations while 2,627 patients got outpatient treatment.
Singapore High Commissioner to Bangladesh Verghese Mathews, Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun MP and Consul General of Singapore Tan Kok Nam were present at the inauguration of the 4th Eye See The World project at Belabo.
The four-member specialist team of Singapore was led by Dr Nikolle Tan of Tan Tock Seng Hospital while two-member Bangladesh team included Dr Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury and Dr Niaz Rahman of Bangladesh Eye Hospital, Dhaka.
