 | Airtel to widen its network 16 March, 2011
Mobile operator Airtel Bangladesh plans to expand its network across the country to cater to the demand of growing number of existing and potential customers, the operator said in a statement yesterday.
"Our aim is to be loved by our customers by launching innovative products and seamless services with better and wider coverage across the country. Rolling out of those network sites is the first step towards achieving that goal," said Chris Tobit, managing director of Airtel Bangladesh, at the launch of the new sites.
“As a responsible telecom company, we are playing our part to help the country tackle power crises as well as save the environment by introducing green energy solutions.”
The operator said about 450 new sites are ready for launch, and it has so far acquired over 1000 sites countrywide. Last year, Airtel also signed contracts with other operators to share infrastructure for a better network.
Airtel Bangladesh is a concern of Bharti Airtel with operations in 19 countries across Asia and Africa.
