Shahid Abdur Rab Serniabat Textile Engineering College

Barisal Textile Institute was established in 1980. In 1993-94 it was upgraded to offer 3 year Diploma course in Textile Technology. Bangladesh Government upgraded this institute again to a Textile Engineering College and renamed it to Shahid Abdur Rab Serniabat Textile Engineering College. It offers 4-years B.Sc. in Textile Engineering under the University of Chittagong with specialization in Yarn Manufacturing Technology, Fabric Manufacturing Technology, Wet Processing Technology, and Garments Manufacturing Technology.

The entry requirements for admission are as follows:
– Students must be Bangladeshi by birth.
– Passed SSC (Science) with GPA 3.50 (without 4th subject) from any discipline.
– Passed HSC (Science) or equivalent exam of the current academic year obtaining at least GPA 3.5 and on an average at least GP 4.00 but individually not below grade point 3.0 in physics, chemistry and mathematics.
